Sarah Susanka's The Not So Big House

I was just reminded today about one of my favorite books, The Not So Big House, by Sarah Susanka. This book was quite popular right after we built our house 9 years ago and we wish we'd have found it sooner. We did get many of the elements in our house which she advocates, so that was good.

The book talks about use of space and how to make cozy alcoves and rooms that people want to be in. A little nook can go a long way. Light from two sides of a room is also extremely important.

If you're thinking of building a home, I would pick up one of Sarah Susanka's books and see if there's anything that resonates with you.
