The Bernalillo County Assessor who covers the values of Albuquerque Homes, recently said she is going to roll back property values to 2002 for homes sold since then. Now, it appears as though her decision is under review.
The "tax lightening" phrase has become common in Albuquerque as upon sale, home values have been reported to the assessors office, and resulted in shocking increases in property values for taxation purposes.
It will be interesting to see how the ends, as many past home buyers are counting on the Assessor to fix this problem.
