Here in Albuquerque and Rio Rancho there are many home owners who would be no where else... our Old Town Albuquerque Christmas Eve with Luminarias is probably one of the most beautiful in the world.
Strolling around The Plaza and seeing the Luminarias on tops of the shops, church, and along sidewalks is fantastic. We usually bring all of our dogs along and stroll amongst the crowds. Then, we wait until late to drive through the Albuquerque Country Club neighborhood and Old Town Albuquerque after the bus tours are over, and most everyone else has gone home. For the newbies, people turn off their headlights and just use parking lights as they drive through.
It's probably too late to buy tickets to the bus tours through Old Town, but if you are new to the area, this is a great way to see the luminarias.
