Being top realtors in the Albuquerque area, we've been fortunate to have had quite a few home closings in the past few weeks, with a few first time buyers taking advantage of the tax credit which was set to expire November 30th. At these closings, the title companies escrow officers were all reported being extremely busy with closings.
While the extension of the home buyers tax credit along with the expansion to existing home owners is great, we are not seeing great urgency with buyers who qualify. We are seeing a few existing home owners who are thinking of buying a home just because of the $6500 credit.
It will be interesting to see how home sales are affected by the holiday season and the incentives. More as we go through it... Tracy
