When construction begins next year on a new Westgate elementary, it will mark the future of environmentally and energy-conscious schools in Albuquerque.
Albuquerque Public Schools last fall began requiring that new schools, or stand-alone additions, must adhere to national standards set by the U.S. Green Building Council to attain 'Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design' certification."
